You’ll see a number of sliders appear, which you can start tweaking to your heart’s content. To enable Manual mode, open Armoury Crate, make sure GPU mode is set to Standard, Ultimate, or Optimized, and click the “Manual” option along the bottom of the screen. (And in some cases, like the Zephyrus Duo 16, Manual mode even allows you to push the system even further than Turbo mode allows.) But if you want more fine-grained control, Armoury Crate’s Manual mode lets you specify exact power, temperature, and fan targets to customize performance as you see fit. ![]() Here, you'll find all the tools you need to get the exact balance of performance, temperatures, and fan noise you demand from your laptop.Īrmoury Crate’s pre-set performance modes are all most people will need to get the job done - Silent mode lowers power consumption for quiet operation, Performance mode strikes a balance between power and acoustics, and Turbo mode cranks everything to the max for high-octane gaming. To satisfy your desire for a fully customized gaming PC, we give you the power to take command through Manual Mode in Armoury Crate. But we know that not all ROG gamers are content to drive between the guard rails. So I believe that the understanding here is not very well understood.ROG laptops give you easy, one-click options for tuning your system's performance. So it seems possible why can we not now, I am pretty sure it was previously possible to choose. Where as my other apps which have a preference of iGPU, are on dGPU now. So the app rendering is via the dGPU, but the app itself is not running on the dGPU. Like right now my Chrome is running on iGPU, because that was the preferred state when I started the computer without external monitor and it has stayed that way since plugging in the monitor, not only that it is rendered on the external monitor. It seems possible to direct the app to a specific GPU. This is a fact.īut I am looking for understanding as to how to configure which gpu an app uses, and a bit more insight. Screens do dissappear or move, especially when unplugging a monitor, displays are reordered entirely. I am generally using both laptop screen and external display., but will disconnect and take laptop to the couch. It will do the wider community a great service. Someone, please explain this "Once" and for "All". Nvidia Setup most apps again set to use iGPU Windows Setup with all apps setup this way except Games (fortnite) the customer (me) is left not understanding what is expected or what should happen.ĪSUS if you are listening, why not add some context to the armoury Crate telling us what happens when I plug in / unplug, remove external monitor set windows settings etc.because are a general user I have no idea which software does what and what is the best setup. Please someone explain.Īrmoury Crate Set to use WIndows, yet windows is set to not use dGPU on all of these apps. Or am I best to restart with power off so that the apps start on the iGPU?Ĭan someone please explain how this is meant to work.īecause just relying on NVIDIA WINDOWS AND ASUS software it becomes a fail. ![]() I have setup both Nvidia and Windows settings to prefer iGPU for apps like VSCode and even Chrome.īut both apps show up in Armoury Crate hence I get warned when unplugging my laptop (Rog Strix 15) Or am I not understanding when the apps use dGPU. so that you can stop them when on battery. Isn't the point of the "GPU Power Saving" page in Armoury Crate to show apps using dedicated GPU. Under this definition, yes of course they are because they are rendered on my screen (external monitor included), so by default they use GPU. If Armoury Crate says all of my apps are using GPU.
